How confident are you in your own capabilities? Since we are mere humans made out of dust, I won’t judge you if your answer is “not that much”. The real question is: how confident are you in God? Do you truly believe that we are His children and he takes care of us? Better yet, do you trust that God has a plan for your life?
They key principle in life is that you shouldn’t do anything without consulting God in prayer. Why? Because we shouldn’t lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5), and God will give us what we ask for in prayer (Mark 11:24). God is perfect in all of His ways. His understanding surpasses ours by unimaginable heights. Do you realise that God knew your destiny long before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5), and that He has a specific plan and purpose for you? Jeremiah 29:11 teaches us the following: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (NIV). So what does this truly mean?
1) God has a plan for you
2) His plan is a wonderful one
3) His plan will not bring you bad things
4) His plan will give you hope
5) His plan will give you a good future
If God has a plan for our lives, and it is a good plan, which ensures us a future (which in turn has to be a good one); why are we so worried most of the time? Why do we break down when the plans we have made for ourselves don’t go as we planned? Aren’t God’s plans much better in the first place? God doesn’t promise us that our road will be smooth, but he promises us that the plan He has for us will bring us a good future. WE may be dismayed from time to time but there is no curveball life can throw at GOD, since He is in control of all things. All the promises in the Bible are ours to take, so let’s start cashing them in!
Is your health abandoning you?
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:29, NIV).
Going through a hard time?
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still (Exodus 14:14, NIV).
Having a tough time in school?
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you (James 1:5, NIV)
Bank account running low?
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, NIV).
There is not a single bad situation we can find ourselves in that is not undone by scripture. Sometimes we just fail to see it. Think about this: God’s plan for your life will direct you to your purpose. However, you can only uncover His perfect blueprint when you recognise His voice. If we seek God’s will in prayer, and listen & obey when He speaks to us, there is nothing but prosperity in our purpose.
