Women’s faith in the Lord

Faith and trust are things that makes our relationship better with God. We trust people around us, but the question now is do we trust and have faith in the Lord as women in this world? Many women of this generation lack faith in God due to the circumstances women find themselves in. We women tend to worry, stress and become frustrated, when things don’t go our way. There are many stories in the bible about women who had a lot of faith and trust in God.

What is faith?
Faith is something that you are hoping for to get, the thing that you want but can’t see, but you know that you will get it by faith and trusting the person that will give it to you. Faith is what we all need to have in the Lord; the meaning of faith is: Pistis in Greek language. When you have faith, you are able to receive impossible things, the things that an unbeliever won’t expected you to get. In Hebrews 11:1-2 NIV it is written: ‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.

Where Faith Comes From
Faith is not something you can just conjure on your own, most people get their faith after hearing a testimony. This mostly increases your faith in God. God gave us the gift of faith, He can’t do something for you if you don’t have faith and trust Him, in Matthew 17:20 NIV it says: “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” This scripture simply shows that faith triggers the impossible.

“Most people get their faith after hearing a testimony.”

How do We get Faith?
The beauty of faith comes from the experiences of individuals where God has been present and shown His faithfulness and worthiness. From the testimonies where God overturned risky situations to receiving intangible things that cannot be attained in any way, shape or form, all ensemble first hand experiences where faith starts and grows. Mark 5:27-31 is a prime example where God’s faithfulness transcended based on a woman who was facing agony pains for twelve consecutive years and was healed as soon as she touched His clothing. The aforementioned first-hand experience of God’s presence and healing built. Faith is build up by the things our God has done in the past and is still doing for us. If you have faith in the Lord He is able to do the impossible thing in your life. We can’t serve God if we don’t have faith in Him.

How does our Faith grow in the Lord?
We often ask ourselves the question: How can we increase our faith in the Lord? Our faith is just like a seed that will grow up into a beautiful tree. We can gain more faith in the Lord if we truly trust Him with all our hearts and soul and that you know that the impossible thing can only be done by God. When we want to increase our faith in the Lord, we must first follow the things God wants us to follow. And for Him to show that we trust Him, we must also be able to go on our knees and ask the Lord to increase our faith in Him. So, if we have the strong desire for our faith to grow, it will!

“Our faith is just like a seed that will grow up into a beautiful tree.”

Sarah’s faith in the Lord
If we go into the bible there is a woman called Sarah, she got married to a man called Abraham they were really old. One day He had a conversation with God and asked God: who will get all my properties when I die? Before he asked this question, God promised Abraham and his wife Sarah that they will get children, and God took Abraham and his wife outside and promised them that they will get a lot of children like the stars. Also, God told Abraham that his wife would give birth to a child. When Sarah heard this, she started to laugh and told her husband that she is too old to give birth at this age. Sara suggested that her slave called Hagar should give birth for her husband. After a while when Hagar got pregnant Sarah also got pregnant! Hagar first gave birth to a boy called Ishmael. After a short while, Sarah also gave birth to a boy called Isaac at an old age. After she gave birth to Isaac her faith increased. She never expected that she would bare a child at her age.

If we carefully read Sarah’s story and how her faith increased. It shows us that indeed God is the almighty God. There is absolutely nothing that is too hard for him. Sarah’s story has encouraged many and is still encouraging many people to have faith in God.
