We should have faith in the God of the Bible because He still performs miracles

Life can be like a roller coaster, sometimes you close your eyes and hold on in the sheer terror. Life can be like a mountain; hard to climb to the top. Life can be like a swimming pool; you jump into the water but you can’t see how deep it is.

We all go through hard times in life, that’s just part of life. Sometimes we are in a place of depression, discouragement, loneliness, rejection or sadness. Those times are very hard to discuss with a friend, family member or anybody, even though you feel like screaming it out. We as believers have so many privileges in Christ. Jesus told us, “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27 NLT). When we talk about a gift, it’s something that is freely given, and all you can do is receive, be thankful and use it.

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?” – Luke 12:25-26 NLT

Jesus perfoms His first Miracle
In order to see the things God promised in His word, it requires faith. Faith means I haven’t seen it but yet still I believe. Let me give you an example from the bible. The first sign Jesus performed to reveal His glory was at the wedding feast that He and His disciples attended in John 2. The wine supply ran out, so Mary approached Jesus and said “They have no more wine”. After that she told the servants “Do whatever Jesus tells you”. Jesus told them to fill the six stone water jars, each holding twenty to thirty gallons with water. Once it was filled with water, Jesus instructed them to take them to the master of ceremonies and the servants followed His instructions. When the master of ceremonies tasted the water, it miraculously turned  into wine.

This was the first signs through which he revealed His glory. The servants never saw Jesus perform a miracle, yet they obeyed. They could have asked so many questions like; why should we fill jars with water? We need wine not water? Like.. it doesn’t even make sense.. But instead they decided to trust Jesus. So in my opinion these servants deserve a big round of applause for obeying while they never saw Jesus perform a miracle before.

I believe this level of faith should be seen in our lives to receive a miracle. We should blindly trust God in every situation without any doubt and questions. Sometimes I feel like we limit God in our minds. We are scared to ask for big things, because we don’t want to be disappointed, we want to be “realistic”. But God is the God of miracles, nobody can be compared unto Him. The bible even says; “you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours” (Mark 11:24 NLT). Do you see the reference to faith again? You need to believe before you receive.

Your faith can move mountains, and your doubt can create them

To God be the glory we have the Bible these days. We can read the miracles God did throughout the bible. The bible should be like our medicine. Feeling lonely? Read the Bible. Feeling depressed? Read the Bible. Feeling discouraged? Read the Bible.. We can find everything in the Bible to encourage us in our current stage. Make scriptures personal, because God still performs miracles in this present age. Exodus 33:14 is one of my favorites, so when I personalise it, I will say: The LORD replied, “I will personally go with you Stefanie, and I will give you rest, everything will be fine for you.

Believe God for your next miracle! Instead of saying “Lord I don’t know how to do this” say “Lord I can’t wait to see how you are going to do this!” The miracle you are believing for isn’t that far away, you just need to run toward that place with faith. God can do everything, noting is impossible for Him only IF you believe.
