Have you ever asked yourself who you are?! And I’m not talking about your name, where you are from and so on. I’m talking about understanding who God wants you to be. Have you ever asked God “Who am I? God, who am I and what are you actually expecting from me? Who do you want me to be and how can I be dedicated to that woman I’m supposed to be?”
Let’s try to break down what dedication means, as the Oxford Dictionary says dedication means ‘’the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose’’. As Christians, before we can commit to a task or purpose it’s important to find out what your purpose actually is. We all have a purpose to fulfil, since we are not on this earth just to be here. God created us with a purpose, and each and every one of us has a different one. However, when we put all of our purposes together it forms in to something very powerful, as the bible says in Romans 12:4-7.
We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so.
(Romans 12:4-8, GNB)
Fulfilling a task, your task, as a woman (and a Christian) takes a lot of dedication. There are some tasks God has put on your path that you yourself ware aware of but you are not committed to that task. This message is for me too. God has told me to fulfil a certain task many times but when I thought about it, fear starts to come in, insecurity comes in and doubt takes over. That are some of the things that can hold you back from being dedicated to the woman God wants you to be! If you are also dealing with these things I want to ask you to pray about it, for the bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Don’t be afraid to fulfil your task and your purpose. You might think the task is too big for you but remember God will never give you things you can’t handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). God gave you that task so that you would fulfil it, not so that you could leave it to rest. As Christians, we know that there are many souls that need to be saved. There are certain tasks that God wants you to fulfil so that ONE soul can be saved and set free. As you are being dedicated to the woman God wants you to be, you are an example for others. People are looking up to you, YES YOU! Don’t be insecure and think about the things you have done wrong in the past. Be broken before God and let Him use you the way He wants to. Let God make that woman out of you that He wants you to be!
So I want to ask and challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and start to please God. Start to fulfil your purpose! Let your fear, doubt and bad mindset go, for it’s not your portion. Remember: you have a task and a purpose to fulfil and you can only that by being dedicated to the woman god wants you to be!
