God Joining Man and His Suitable Helper Together

God is the One who designed marriage from the very beginning of time in Genesis. God saw that it wasn’t good at all for the man, Adam, to be alone, as we can read in Genesis 2:18 (KJV); “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Therefore, God caused a deep sleep for Adam and in the meantime, He took His time to create a solution for Adam’s loneliness, as we can read in Genesis 2:21 (KJV); “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; As God by creation made two of one, so again by marriage he made one out of twoGod took one of Adam’s ribs to design a special and suitable helper for him, the woman who was called Eve. So she is a part of him and has to be a part of his life, for they complete each other. This we can read in Mark 18:8 (KJV); “And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.” During a deep sleep or resting period, God can purposely create things for you. He can take something from you and even make it much better in such a way that it can help you tremendously! After God designed the woman, He brought her unto the man and presented her to him, as we read in Genesis 2:22 (KJV); “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” This quite reflects the way a bride is given out by her beloved Father, God, to the groom. In today’s generation you can still see a similarity of this scene when you attend a wedding, because you can also see a reflection of this whereby the father hands over his daughter, the bride, to the groom. Eve was worth the wait and Adam could feel that she was the one for him and a part of him. The way he describes Eve in Genesis 2:23 (KJV) tells it all: “And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Marriage is God joining the man and the designed suitable helper for him, the woman, together. And because God has joined them together and has the Highest Authority, no one should put it asunder! “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.(Mark 10:9, KJV) A firm foundation in God is required in order to let what God has joined together, the marriage, sustain well. For a firm foundation in God stands, as 2 Timothy 2:19 describes. For us, believers in Christ, Jesus Christ is our laid foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11). And because Jesus Christ is our foundation, His Words are very important. Listening to His Words and doing what it says is required, for hereby we will resemble being a wise man who has built his house on a firm foundation. And because of that, despite the storms that may come your way, your marriage will keep on standing because of the firm foundation which is Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:24-25). The way a wife submits unto the Lord is also of an importance. Because the Word of God describes that wives should submit to their husbands in the same manner they submit to God (Ephesians 5:22).  If you want to become a wife in the (near) future or if you already are a wife, ask yourself: “in what way am I submitted unto the Lord?Great marriages don't happen by luck or accident, they happen by God's favour and approvalI pray that you may be fully submitted unto the Lord. May God design you into becoming the submissive (future) wife He has purposed you to be, so that you can become a suitable helper for your (future) husband. May Jesus Christ be the firm foundation of your (future) marriage, so that the glorification of God in your (future) marriage will be seen and your marriage will keep on standing despite the storms of life. For you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). In Jesus’ name I pray – Amen!

God bless,
